The 3D printing of PPE to help prevent the spread of coronavirus and save lives hit the headlines in 2020 – and Print Monster was also in the spotlight. Our team joined the national effort (coordinated by the National 3D Printing Society) to manufacture 600+ face shields for GP surgeries, nurses, care home workers and emergency dental hubs.

In 2020, Bracknell News shared our story about the shields that we’re producing for the local community. We also had a chat with Jono Holmes live on BBC Radio Berkshire before the story went national on BBC News online.

BBC1’s South Today show featured our Head Monster Carl Owen (ticking that 15 minutes (or 15 seconds!) of fame off the bucket list). The report showed how our printers produced the face shields along with a few words from Carl explaining how the 3D printing army across the country came together to make a difference. We were so honoured to play a part in this important campaign.
